he December 13, 2010 graduation ceremony
is in the new Auburn Arena (not the Coliseum). Arrive no later than 9:15
or 1:15. The ceremonies will begin promptly at 10:00 and 2:00, and
doctoral candidates and major professors must be divided into two even
lines, provided instructions, and led downstairs ahead of the start
time.
Where to enter and go in the Arena:
1. Enter the Arena through the Scholarship Entrance adjacent to the
parking lot. Go directly up the stairs. At the top of the first flight
of stairs, go to the left, through the double doors, and down a short
hall. Signs will direct you to the your Meeting Room.
2. Members of the Graduation Committee will be in the meeting room to
give instructions.
a. The cards from the Graduate School with the names of candidates
and professors will be handed out in the meeting room.
b. Dean Flowers of the Graduate School will have a message for the
candidates and provide an overview of the ceremony.
c. Graduation Committee members will demonstrate the hooding process.
d. Graduation Committee members will provide the processional and
recessional instructions while in the room; lead you to the entry
portals for the ceremony; and then lead you onto the floor for seating.
3. Do NOT plan on taking personal items to the floor. The meeting
room will be locked during the ceremony if you wish to leave a coat,
purse, or other items. It will be unlocked at the end of the ceremony so
that you may retrieve your personal belongings.

1. Faculty Marshal (carrying the University gonfalon)
2. Student Marshal from each College/School - single file (carrying
gonfalons)
3. Doctoral candidates and major professors-double file (led by two
Graduation Committee members)
4. Departmental faculty - double file (led by two Graduation
Committee members)
5. Platform) participants - double file (led by Faculty Marshal)
ORDER OF RECESSIONAL
1. Platform participants - double file
2. Faculty Marshal (will wait at head of first row to prompt
recessing of major professors and doctorate awardees)
3. Major professors and doctorate awardees (Return to the meeting
room.)
